KU No. 1 overall seed

The Kansas Jayhawks are the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, as expected. Kentucky is the second No. 1., Duke the third and Syracuse the fourth.

KU will play out of St. Louis, Kentucky out of Syracuse, Duke out of Houston and Syracuse out of Salt Lake City. KU and Syracuse would play in the national semifinals if both teams advanced to the Final Four.

KU is a No. 1 seed for the ninth time and will take on No. 16 seed Lehigh in the first round on Thursday in Oklahoma City. Kansas will then play the winner of No. 8 UNLV and No. 9 Northern Iowa in round two. The Jayhawks played UNLV in the second round in 2008 on the way to the national championship.

The Midwest bracket just happens to contain the last three teams who have beaten the Jayhawks: No. 6 seed Tennessee, No. 7 seed Oklahoma State and No. 5 seed Michigan State (the Spartans defeated KU in the Sweet 16 last year and could face the Jayhawks again this year in St. Louis).

Ohio State is the No. 2 seed, Georgetown the No. 3 and Maryland the No. 4.
