Parting Shot: Caring When Few Others Do

This season is why Kansas-Missouri is a Border War. And not a Border Showdown. Or hoedown. Or whatever other PC designation some try to use.

Kansas has nothing to play for except to beat Missouri. Missouri has a bit more to play for, but few outside of Missouri or Kansas fandom give a hoot.

No national implications are at stake at Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

But this is THE game of the college football season for both teams. And don't let anyone try to tell you differently.

The winners get to rub it in the losers face for a solid year. But even the winners won't be able to totally enjoy it because the losers will come up with some - "Yeah, but. . . "

Hey, I was born and raised and have lived 59 yards on the border of these two states. Don't even try to convince me this isn't the most important college football game of the year.

To both sides.
