Missouri's Bowl Destination? Insight or Holiday

By Mike DeArmond - Posted on 22 November 2009

Here's what we're hearing regarding Missouri's most likely bowl destination.

Beat Kansas in the Border War and - with an Oklahoma State victory over Oklahoma - the Tigers look to have a real shot at the Holiday Bowl.

Lose to Kansas in the Border War - or with an Oklahoma victory over Oklahoma State - the Tigers are more likely headed to the Insight Bowl.

Pay no attention to the supposed bowl selection order. After the BCS title game, it is all a negotiation with the bowls not concerned with anything except selling tickets.

Some concerns on the Holiday and Insight bowls.

The Holiday Bowl - except for it being a late kickoff on the west coast that drives guys like me crazy - none. The game is on ESPN. Missouri will lobby for this bid.

The Insight Bowl - The game will be televised on the NFL Network, which is a bummer for most who want to watch it in the comfort of their own homes and don't have the NFL Net. It would be a boon to bars, however, the prime alternative for any NFL Net offering.

Provided that MU wins against KU, would the Sun look to match MU with a PAC 10 opponent?
