Ressel a Groza Semifinalist
Grant Ressel has gone from odds-against being the place kicker for Missouri to a semifinalist for the Lou Groza Award as the nation's top place kicker.
Ressel came out of the spring behind Tanner Mills as the favorite to handle placement kicks for Missouri, but beat out Mills in August drills.
Since, he ranks as the No. 2 most accurate field goal kicker in college football this season.
Ressel has hit on 17 of 18 field goals, including two 46 yard kicks against Baylor on Saturday. His only miss was in the rain against Nebraska. He is six of seven from 40 yards or longer.
Ressel is threatening the MU season record for field goals, the mark of 21 set in 2007 by Jeff Wolfert.
