MU Soccer Bags Individual Honors; Update - Tigers Beat KU in Tournament
UPDATE - Top-seed Mizzou beat No. 8 seed Kansas 3-2 in overtime in the first round of the Big 12 Soccer Tournament on Wednesday. The Tigers will play No. 5 see Oklahma State at 5:30 on Thursday.
COLUMBIA - Fresh off the first regular season conference championship in program history, the Missouri women’s soccer program has picked up a pack of honors.
Bryan Blitz is the Big 12 Conference’s Coach of the Year honors, an honor he also won in 2007. Crystal Wagner is the league’s Defensive Player of the Year.
Wagner, a defender and the first MU soccer player to earn one of the conference’s top individual player awards, was joined on the first-team All-Big 12 team by forward Kristin Andrighetto. Goalkeeper Tasha Dittamore and forward Michelle Collins were named to the second team.
A Show Me State girl that got away to Nebraska, Morgan Marlborough of Lee’s Summit, won Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year.
