The Border War football game between Kansas and Missouri at Kansas City's Arrowhead Stadium has moved into a prime 2:30 kickoff slot.

FOX - the network that will telecast the game - and Missouri announced the switch from an 11 a.m. start for the Nov. 26 game.

Tickets still remain for the regular season finale for the Tigers and Jayhawks and can be purchased at mutigers.com or ticketmaster.com.

We'll be in a bowl game this year and almost every year in the SEC, we'll dominant there! Only LSU and Alabama are any good, and Auburn once every 20 years, we'll beat every other team!

It is pathetic how MU keeps begging KU to play. To make the point clear Bill Self added yesterday on his show that he could careless about MU. Turner gill said he would not play MU. Frank Martin told MU get lost. MU take the hint, KU , KSU, Big 12 teams will not play you, go away.
Now MU's Frank Haith is begging KU to play, I can see why he is begging, he wanted to get to coach a game at KU's historic Allen field house. MU needs to know KU will never travel to MU to play a game.

I see KU fans are boycotting the last MU/KU border war and donating purchased tickets to kid charities.

envy is what missouri fans want the most from kansas and the schools in the big 12 and they haven't gotten enough please don't leave we will be lost without you. if you want to get mad at someone for the border war ending first it should be your school second it should be jay nixon. in a few years from now its going to be clear when the sec is holding events in st louis instead of the big 12 in kansas city.

I for one am glad its over. MU has been carrying KU for long enough. If KU doesn't play MU your record will only get worse (hard to imagine huh?). KU's conf record for over 100 years is .401. Your best in conf record was against MU (although appropriately still under .500) thus without MU for KU to excited about your record will only suffer. We don't envy losers and there is no reason to pity them either. So we don't care one way or the other. It's mind over matter - we don't mind because you don't matter.

Whose your daddy now?

it must be hard to stand up straight with that giant chip on your shoulder.

Never was a chip, just a load of crap to carry. KU will become worse over time (which in their present case is hard to imagine) because they won't have an emotional rivalry game to play. The records going back over a hundred years completely bears this out. So I say so long and good for MU to leave and try to 1. get more money and 2. play a consistently and considerably better level of football opponents.

You don't get better playing against the chum of the football world. So playing against the likes of KU never was a way to play better. Playing against MU would make up for a whole season of utter ineptness for KU. Now you don't have that to cling to.

i predict that KU will come back and try to worm their way to play MU. I say screw'em again and say no.

did anybody hear keitzman around 3:30 the first missouri fan crying how bama and lsu cheat when they recruit. nice to see somethings never change you haven't played one game and your already crying its not fair. ku won't ever play mu again there is nothing to gain from it win or lose.

Are you going to stop broadcasting from the Plaza? Since you're a KSU grad I'll help point out that is on the Missouri side of the border. Put your money where your mouth is. Bet $50 you won't. Are you going to tell the MU fans to not listen to your radio show since they are now in the SEC conf? Go ahead big mouth, I dare ya. I know you can't because you need listeners. You need the MU fans as there aren't enough KU/KSU fans to keep you floating. So I ask all MU fans to change the radio dial to 610 or anywhere else. Just do it for 3 months and in that timeframe Kevin will start watching his bottomline change and eventually his tune.

MU hasn't begged they asked. You're supposed to be a journalist and you know the difference. Don't make up facts. It is beneath you to misrepresent facts.

KU fans don't buy tickets - they (KU admin) have to give them away so they won't embarrass themselves and the Big 12 by not showing up on TV. Frankly, I hope they do boycott and not show. It would be in character for them and KSU since they can't stand up to UT. Who's your daddy KU/KSU?

I AM CALLING YOU OUT KEVIN. PUT UP OR SHUT UP.

Don't KU fans first have to buy football tickets before they can donate them to charity?

If Mizzou never played KU in any sport ever again, I wouldn't lose any sleep.

Turner Gill said he would not play MU? That's funny because he won't even have a job at the end of the year, so his opinion is worth about as much as a KU football ticket.

And I'm glad to see that Mr. Keitzman is now the official spokesman for the entire state of Kansas. All 748 of you!

The downright begging would be embarrassing to any other school but Mizzou. I thought they didn't need us or the Big 12, yet with not even a foot out the door they are on their knees begging us not to give up their only sellouts. Its hilarious, but the Big 12 has moved on without you. Time to man up and move on with your new reality. Hey, Alabama and LSU will be in Columbia every 12 years or so, so that should be fun...

Only a KU fan would know what a sellout doesn't look like. Only a KU fan would know what a loser is. Just look at any given football saturday with KU listed as the opposing team (since they don't actually play football). You're a good little BB school in a FB conference and BB is strictly 2nd tier sports.

Run it up Pinkel!!! Who cares about sportsmanship when it comes to the cry-babies in Lawrence. If they want to pout because we left the dysfunctional conference, give them something to REALLY cry about. Leave the starters in the entire game...period!

apparently they have also announced that instead of commemorative towels they will be handing out commemorative tissues to KU fans

I doubt that Mizzou will develop a new rival in their new league. Having a rival creates energy and it creates intangible value. It is Mizzou who will be at a loss.

Kansas, staying in the same conference, still has Kansas State as a rival, the in-state emotion creates some regional interest.

Some regional interest? Must be the I-70 corridor between Manhatten and Lawerence. When KSU and KU play their "rivalry" game the rest of the nation doesn't even know it until a week later. Whenever KU plays a FB game the rest of the nation could care less. You have no TV draw and mostly no TV's either - that's why you were never considered in any conf realignment.

Mizzou has no in state rival now, unless you count CMSU or Truman State? But we do have a border rival to our south in Arkansas. We have a border with Tennessee and with Kentucky. But in the SEC the natural rival would be with Arkansas. Especially in basketball where Mike Anderson took his ball and went home. CBS reported that Mizzou's permanent cross-over matchup in football would more than likely be Arkansas. See? Mizzou is already over KU and moving on!!!!

Arkansas' rival in football is LSU. This rivalry even has a title, the Golden Boot. I doubt that Mizzou will replace LSU as Arkansas' rival in football. I see the potential for a basketball rivalry with the coach aspect. However if this conference change has more to do with football as most have indicated that would be less relevant.

While the boot heel of Missouri does border Tennessee and Kentucky I perceive minimal connection with those states through most of Missouri. It is true that many of the ancestors of many people who reside in the Ozarks came from those states however it is in the Ozarks where there is the least interest in college sports.

A true rivalry takes years to develop. Stating that Mizzou is over KU already is preposterous. There will be something of an economic loss in not having the high interest games for Mizzou as there will not be as an intense interest by any of their new opponents as there has been with Kansas.

You have a border with Iowa too. I mean, as long as you think any school in any state bordering you is a "rival", then, yeah, you got tons of them, as many as anybody. KSU, Nebraska, Creighton, Iowa, Iowa State, OU, OSU, Vandy, TN, Arkansas, Arkansas State, Illinois, Illinois State, Northwestern, Chicago State, Grinnell, DePaul, University of Chicago, Loyola, Middle Tennessee State, Emporia State, Fort Hays State, ...

Obviously you either chose not to try and understand what I was saying or you are uncapable of understanding. My post was in response to an individual saying that it takes an in-state presence to create a rivalry. My contention was that we don't have another institution in state to foster a rivalry. So Mizzou would then turn to one of our border states to the east. For KU grads that's the direction the sun rises.

Obviously Fox changed this to a better time slot, since KU is no longer talking to MU and this could be the last match up between these two teams for quite a while. It's too bad KU can't act like grown ups and realize this rivalry has everything to do with borders and nothing to do with conference affiliation.

I have to agree that, if Mizzou is willing to continue, KU should not balk at the chance to continue. The flip side is, though, that w/o Mizzou KU can replace them with a "layup" game, which they will need year to year if they are going to get that 6th win. Iowa State has that problem with Iowa. They manage to win that once in a while, but it really makes for a rugged schedule.

ISU has a winning record against Iowa over the last 15 years. Iowa most years isn't particularly good.

@ 2:35.

It appears that the Big 12 will survive in a slightly diluted form but still as a BCS conference.

The SEC is getting slightly diluted by adding Mizzou.

If I had a choice I would prefer to be in the diluted conference, potentially an easier route to a bowl game. Mizzou moving means that they will have a more difficult road ahead and that they will need to raise more resources to just keep up. KU does not really need to make major changes, they will likely cycle back to being decent some years and poor some years.

It appears that neither side of the border war will have a bowl game this year.

Mizzou will
