Stalking Sean Weatherspoon and Kimmie English

Linebacker Sean Weatherspoon and shooting guard Kimmie English may be two of the most popular athletes at the University of Missouri just now. Possibly ever.

Now fans can vote - by signing up to follow each player’s Twitter.com account - as to who is the most popular.

Frankly, I signed up for both, just so I could see the current statistics on “official” followers. I don’t personally see much use for Tweets. Checking in there makes me feel like a stalker.

Weatherspoon, as of Thursday morning, had 1,902 “stalkers”.

English had 1,658.

The two have a competition going. First one to 2,000 stalkers means the other shows up at the other’s game with half of his face painted black and the other half painted gold.

“Kimmie’s kind of slowed down with the tweets,” Spoon told me at practice on Wednesday. “I’m not sure what’s going on because he stopped advertising it a little bit.

“I don’t know if he got down because I was up by so many or somebody told him to.

“Hopefully I can pull through because I don’t want to go to the basketball game like that.”
